BS Degree Program: Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management
A. The Program
The program is designed to enhance expertise for increased managerial responsibility in farms, agro-industries, and public agencies of individuals engaged in planning and implementing agribusiness development projects/programs.
B. The Curriculum
A total of 168 units, which can normally be taken up in 4 years, are required to earn the BS in Agribusiness Management degree. The Curriculum includes 36 units of general education subjects (to develop social orientation and sensitivity in a students), 80 units basic technical education/core management subjects ( to sharpen the student’s business perspective), 32 units of major technical education subjects and 6 units of electives (to allow the potential agribusiness men to appreciate the unique characteristics of agricultural processes as they affect business), 6 units of Thesis/Internship (to develop the skills and capabilities of agribusiness students and expose them in actual application/experience entrepreneurial activities).
C. Areas of Concern
1. Production Management
Study of the theories, principles, and practices in the production process, organization, management and operation of different agribusiness enterprises.
2. Financial Management
Study of the theories, principles and practices in financing agribusiness project/business enterprise.
3. Personnel Management
Study of the theories, principles and practices in administration, supervision, recruitment and evaluation of manpower/personnel in an enterprise.
4. Marketing Management
Study of the theories, principles and practices in the flow/distribution of goods and services from the producers to the consumers.
